| The finest musical, touring company or not, that I have ever seen on stage. The premise, the music and the majestic finale all comprise what it must be like to be a 'gypsy'. To have accomplished this feat in everyday clothes and on virtually a bare stage, with an offside voice (the director) drew the audience into the play without ever having the actors step off the stage, as in, say "Cats" (another fine musical). I've not been privy to seeing "Les Miz" or "Phantom of the Opera" on stage and so, to date, this remains the finest Broadway musical I have ever attended....five times! |
